AzLA 2015 Conference Updates

By Jasper Halt

Don’t miss your chance to be a part of the AzLA 2015 Annual Conference!

Roundtable, poster, and blitz proposals still open

The conference will be held at the High Country Conference Center in Flagstaff, November 18-20. We are still accepting proposals for 60-minute roundtable discussions, 30-minute poster sessions, and 15-minute “blitz” programs. The deadline for these submissions is Monday, May 25 – be sure to submit your ideas! Questions about the submission process can be directed to the program subcommittee co-chairs: Elizabeth Matson and Samuel Dyal.

Lunchtime programming

We received excellent feedback last year on the inclusion of lunches with conference registration. We are pleased to announce that lunches will be included again this year! Also like last year, we will offer lunchtime programs. Thursday, November 19, will feature a “One Book, One Conference” author presentation. On Friday, November 20, we will unveil awards in a presentation that will include Judy Goddard author awards, Grand Canyon Reader author awards, and AzLA Service Awards. So, with your conference registration, enjoy a great lunch and a great presentation!

Airport shuttle service: reserve early!

For Phoenix-area members, there’s an alternative to driving all the way to Flagstaff: Arizona Shuttle! Arizona Shuttle provides service between Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Flagstaff. For phone reservations, the cost is $45 one-way; for Internet reservations, the cost is $43 one-way. Arizona Shuttle recommends making reservations early to ensure there is space on a shuttle for you.

Online registration opens on August 20, 2015. Contact the AzLA Association Management Office for questions about registering for the conference or if you need assistance with your username and password. They can be reached at (480) 609-3999 or admin@azla.org. For more information, visit the conference page. You can also like us on Facebook, or follow our Twitter feed (hashtag #azla2015).
