2016 Arizona Legislative Session

By Kathy Husser

After 85 days of debate and lobbying, the 2016 legislative session ended after a marathon 18-hour long voting session. The gun legislation (SB 1257) directly affecting AZ libraries was very narrowly defeated again this year, thanks to your support and help from the Counties and Cities lobbying group. Of the 1361 bills introduced this session, 286 completed the process and obtained the Governor’s signature to become law.
