Arizona Library Association Annual Elections

The Arizona Library Association annual elections will be held in October this year. We are excited about the future and we hope you are too! This year, we need candidates to fill the vacancies in five very important leadership positions, President-elect, Secretary, ALA Councilor, the Regional Representative-North, and the Regional Representative-South. 

President-elect is a 3-year time commitment. The successful candidate will move into the role of President in Fall 2021 and then Past-President in Fall 2022. Job duties for this position can be found on our website here: (page 4).

Secretary is 2 year commitment. The successful candidate will become a voting member of the Executive Board and Executive Committee. The duties for this position can be found here (page 6)

The Regional Representative-North is a 2-year commitment. The successful candidate must have a residence within Apache, Coconino, LaPaz, Mohave, & Navajo Counties.  Job duties for this position can be found on our website here: (page 8)

The Regional Representative-South is a 2-year commitment. The successful candidate must have a residence within Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, Pima, Santa Cruz, & Yuma Counties . Job duties for this position can be found on our website here: (page 8)  

ALA Councilor is a 3-year time commitment. The successful candidate will be integral to our communication and engagement with the American Library Association (ALA). Job duties for this position can be found on our website here: (page 9).

If you are interested in advocacy for libraries and making a difference in the lives of staff and the community, email a letter of interest to president@azla.org. Include information about your experience, education, special passions, and why you believe you are the best candidate. The letter should have a minimum of 300 words and include a photo of yourself.
